Cast steel parts are workpieces made of cast steel, with properties similar to cast iron, but with better strength. However, cast steel parts are prone to defects such as porosity and inaccurate angular positioning during the casting process. As the manufacturing industry accelerates its upgrading and manufacturing technologies and processes continuously improve, there are correspondingly higher requirements for product quality.

The client manufactures cast steel parts and wants to analyze the produced cast steel parts against the original digital models, but they encounter problems. Scanning the large areas of the cast steel parts requires a new handheld 3D scanner, which can reduce the need for preliminary point placement and improve efficiency. Traditional surveying methods are no longer sufficient to meet current market demands, resulting in large cumulative deviations, long processing times, and high costs during the inspection process.

HOLON 3D's technical engineers used the new HOLON751 handheld 3D scanner to comprehensively scan the cast steel parts, acquiring high-precision 3D data. The scanner boasts a fast scanning speed, short processing time, and high work efficiency. The acquired data was imported into 3D inspection software and compared with the original digital model to obtain a concise and easy-to-understand inspection report. The client can obtain detailed comparative data from the report, identify existing problems, and thus solve their difficulties.
